Random Act of Kindness Day®

Friday November 2, 2018

In our crazy, scheduled worlds, we don’t always take the time to slow down and reflect on how fortunate we are to live in this great region. Random Act of Kindness Day® is an opportunity to do something kind for someone else, to appreciate fellow citizens and to build community- it’s NOT about fundraising – just a day to celebrate kindness.

Durham Community Foundation (DCF) invites you to either collect healthy non-perishable food items and donate them to your local food bank, or collect gently used clothing or winter gear like toques, mitts & socks, and donate them to your local shelter.

On October 1, 2018, we will share our images, and we hope you will help us spread the word by printing and posting our RAK Day poster in your main office, and updating your FB page with our FB topper and profile pic.

On Friday November 2, share your organization’s RAK act on DCF’s Facebook page between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm for a chance to win $500, for your favourite registered charity in the Region of Durham. Please note that the $500 donation is made possible by The Pension Specialists, as a result they have final approval on the designated charity.

Keep an eye out for all the amazing acts of kindness in our community on Friday & share your kindness stories through social media! #RAKDay & #kindnessDurhamCF
